QPR fan insists signing Koti Saito permanently is a "banker" this summer, praising his loan spell and urging the club to get the deal done.
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more...
With the summer transfer window fast approaching, Queens Park Rangers supporters are already making their wishes clear. For FLW's R's Fan Pundit Louis Moir, one priority stands above the rest.
Louis was asked about his thoughts on what is simply a 'banker' for the club over the summer months, and he believed that the permanent signing of Koti Saito is essential heading into next term after a strong loan spell at Loftus Road.
Saito impressed during his time at Loftus Road, and Louis feels the club simply cannot allow him to slip away for good.
"I'd like to say it's going to be a banker, and I am praying that we are going to sign Koti Saito on a permanent deal," Louis told FLW.
"Everyone at the club, the fans, and the club itself - I am sure everyone would want to see him at QPR again next season."
Speaking with FLW back in October following the clubs 1-1 draw against Coventry, Louis said: "I was calling for him to start the game, because obviously we've seen what he can do, I've been impressed with him, and maybe it's a sign he's adapting quite quickly and could well be a main-stay in the starting eleven really, especially with performances like that."
"I'd like to see it. He's tricky, quick, can beat a man and has a low centre of gravity, and was also unlucky not to score a couple of weeks ago, and that will come in time. You need a player like that, he creates chances, and hopefully he can carry on like that and definitely should be starting the next game."
Transfermarkt notes that the Japanese attacker's contract with parent club, Belgian outfit Lommel SK, expires at the end of June, coinciding with the end of his loan spell in West London.
"We are waiting for his contract to end, so we can snap him up for free," said Louis. "Surely we can get something over the line and make him a permanent QPR player."
The 23-year-old has become a fan favourite throughout his loan spell, and statistically looked right at home out on the wing in QPR colours. Louis thinks there's no excuse not to push the deal through.
"It would be gutting just to have him on loan last season, and then that's it," he said. "I can't see a world where we don't give it a good go to try and sign him."
Whatever direction the club takes in terms of the next managerial appointment, Louis is adamant that Saito must be a part of the squad in 2025/26.
"I am praying that Koti Saito is a QPR player next season on a permanent deal. I can say that this is the banker, the one thing that should happen this summer," he concluded.
"Whoever comes in as manager, regardless, Saito has to be a QPR player next season.
