Great to see Reo Hatate having the confidence in his fast improving grasp of the English language to be interviewed on Celtic TV today, ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden on Sunday against St Johnstone…

Reo Hatate is well aware of the danger that the Perthshire side will bring to Hampden, looking for a repeat of the tactics that got them the win in the Scottish Premiership over the Scottish Champions the weekend before last.

St Johnstone will adopt the same tactics as two weeks ago

An early goal from a set-piece as Celtic start slowly – a worrying feature of our season that seems to have been resolved at the weekend against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park – then sit back in a low block and defend your lead with your lives.  It worked last time and it would be incredibly frustrating for the 45k or so Celtic supporters at the National stadium if it were to re-occur on Easter Sunday.

Reo Hatate though is determined to make sure that doesn’t happen and he’s on the hunt for his first goal at Hampden on Sunday, although he did score in the penalty shoot-out win over theRangers which is his favourite memory so far at Hampden.

One disappointment amongst the Celtic glory

Reo’s only disappointment there was the Scottish Cup semi-final defeat in extra-time against theRangers in Ange Postecoglou’s first season at the club.  Outside of that it has been glory all the way for Reo Hatate and Celtic.

“I want to win the Scottish Cup. We lost against St Johnstone in the last league match so we have to work hard in the next game. I will do my best for the team,” Reo told Celtic TV.

“I want to try and score'” red eyes his first Hampden goal

He added: “I’ve never scored a goal at Hampden Park so I want to try and score a goal in the next game. It’s important to win the next game. We have good memories at Hampden Park. We won the League Cup a couple of months ago and I want to win the next match (against St Johnstone).

On his favourite match so far, rather than last season’s Scottish Cup Final win over theRangers he opted for the more recent Premier Sports League Cup Final win in the penalty shoot-out against the same opposition, led of course by Captain Disappointed.

“It was tough but we won the League Cup”

“Especially the League Cup this season we played against (the)Rangers and drew 3-3. We went to penalties. It was a hard and I played the full game. It was tough but we won the League Cup, so I’m most happy.”

“I have good memories at Hampden Park,” Reo said thinking about his time as a winner at Celtic, getting to finals then collecting the silverware.
