FC Barcelona had a very good 2024-25 season, in which several of their players starred. However, the limelight was taken mostly by the forward Lamine Yamal, who amazed the world with his top-class performances, only at the age of 18.
The Spaniard received a lot of recognition for these performances as well, including being the runner-up for the Ballon d’Or and bagging several other awards. The most recent recognition for him came at the 120th anniversary of the Spanish Newspaper Mundo Deportivo last night, where he was handed the Mundo Deportivo Trophy.
Yamal also talked to the media after getting the award, and one of the topics he talked about was his future at Barcelona. In this regard, the forward said:
“I hope I can stay here for my entire life, where I enjoy myself every day, at the best club and in the best city in the world.”
Yamal also addressed the upcoming Copa del Rey tie against Albacete:
“Tomorrow is a very important day. We’re going for the Copa semi-final, which is a title we have to win.”
Lamine Yamal scored a wonderful goal in the game against Elche in his last outing, and fans would be hoping to see another excellent performance from him to lead his side to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.
