“I want a new challenge” — AC Milan star Rafael Leao eyes Premier League move | OneFootball

AC Milan winger Rafael Leao has opened the door for a Premier League transfer by admitting he wants a 'new challenge'.

Milan are understood to be ready to consider offers for the Portugal international this summer, to raise funds for a rebuild under a new head coach.

The Rossoneri finished fifth inSerie A to miss out on a place in the Champions League, a scenario which is set to lead to exits.

Leao has two seasons to run on his contract and is keen to leave the San Siro after an injury-impacted campaign. The 26-year-old, who scored nine goals in 23 league starts, has been linked with the Premier League.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs seeking wide players this summer, and Leao has admitted that a move to England appeals.

Speaking toSportTV, he confirmed his desire to leave Milan and named the Premier League and La Liga as his destinations of choice.

“I want a new challenge out of Serie A. I follow the Premier League with great attention. If I have the opportunity to play there or La Liga I would be really happy because my talent would be exulted there”.

Leao has scored 80 goals in 291 appearances for Milan since signing from Lille in 2019. He was named Serie A Footballer of the Year during the club's last title success in 2021/22, and led the division for assists in 2023/24.

Consistently ranked among the best ball-carriers in Italy, Leao will represent Portugal at this summer's World Cup. He has five goals in 43 caps for the national team.
