“I would kill it!” – Former Chelsea striker claims he would score more for the Blues in modern Premier League | OneFootball

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was a great player for Chelsea back in the day, and he says he would do an even better job now.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been speaking to Tribal Football about his career, and the striker has concluded that he would be even more successful now than he was back in the early 2000s when he was excellent for Chelsea, Leeds, Middlesbrough and Charlton.

According to the Dutchman, modern day defenders who are picked for skill on the ball would struggle against his clever runs and explosiveness.

“I would kill it! Honestly, I think I would score far more goals than I did back then,” the former Blues striker said.

“I see football differently. I look for opportunities, spaces to get in, and maximise my chances. Now you get more chances in a game than you did back then. So, yes, I would absolutely thrive.”

Honestly, Jimmy could have scored more even when he was at Chelsea if he had been in a more consistent team. We can only imagine how much he would be able to bully defenders now, given how much more protection he would get from referees.
