Igor Lichnovsky has left Club América for Karagümrük in Türkiye’s top flight on a permanent transfer. Americayya.net reports that the Chilean defender has signed an 18-month deal with an option for a further year.

América have been trimming the squad in recent weeks, having already terminated Javairo Dilrosun’s contract.

Lichnovsky initially arrived as a late-window pick-up after being discarded by Tigres, a move that split opinion within the club.

He exceeded expectations, delivering strong performances and playing a key role in one of the side’s three consecutive Liga MX titles.

Just as América moved to buy his rights, he suffered a ligament rupture that sidelined him for two tournaments, costing him most of Apertura 2024 and all of Clausura 2025.

After returning, he struggled to recapture that level, and his starting place was debated as academy product Ramón Juárez impressed. His América spell now ends as he seeks to rediscover his best form with Karagümrük.
