- Tottenham manager Igor Tudor defended his decision to substitute goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in the 17th minute during their 5-2 loss to Atletico Madrid, following two significant errors.
- Kinsky, 22, was surprisingly chosen over first-choice Guglielmo Vicario and was responsible for Atletico's first and third goals.
- Tudor stated he had never made such an early goalkeeper substitution in his 15-year managerial career but felt it was necessary to protect Kinsky and the team.
- The Croatian manager confirmed Kinsky apologised to the team in the dressing room and accepted the decision to be taken off.
- Tudor, who has lost all four games since taking charge of Spurs, insisted he is not concerned about being sacked, focusing instead on helping the team.
