Even as Barcelona ramp up their pursuit of Nico Williams from Athletic Club, the 22-year-old winger has been spotted vacationing with Blaugrana teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal.

It is no secret that Nico and Yamal have forged a strong friendship during their time with the Spanish national team. In fact, the duo were key to La Roja’s triumph at the UEFA Euro 2024 this summer.

Now, both Yamal and Nico are on holiday together in Marbella even as speculations linking the latter with a move to Barcelona continue to grow.

Nico a priority for Barcelona

As has been well-established already, Nico Williams is a priority target for FC Barcelona this summer.

The Catalans are already working on signing the Spanish international and have reached an agreement with his agent over a five-year contract.

As soon as they receive the green signal from the player himself, Barça are prepared to activate his €58 million release clause and sign him from Athletic Club.

However, recently, PSG have entered the race to sign Nico and have tabled a contract proposal that would be double what Barcelona are offering.

At the same time, it has been reported that players from Athletic Club are trying to put pressure on the 22-year-old winger to not choose Barcelona, citing the club’s financial and registration issues.

But Barcelona are optimistic about closing the deal and land the Spaniard and will hope that the time he spends with Yamal on vacation in Marbella further helps the forward choose them.
