Robert Lewandowski has admitted he was completely stunned after training with Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal for the first time.
The Barca duo have enjoyed a tremendous start to the season, with their displays in attack helping the Blaugrana lead the La Liga title race and win three of their four Champions League matches so far.
Yamal has enjoyed an incredible breakout year in 2024, becoming Barca's new great hope for the future while playing a significant role in Spain's victorious Euro 2024 campaign. He is still just 17 years of age, but Lewandowski has revealed how shell-shocked he was by the teenager when he first caught a glimpse of his talent.
Speaking on the latest episode ofRio Ferdinand Presents podcast, the Poland international said: "The first time I saw him in a first team training session, he was 15 years old.
"It was the first time I saw someone like that in my life, because I've seen many talented young players, but for the first time I said 'Wow'. Who is this kid? It's impossible to be so good and so intelligent at this age."

Yamal has already registered five goals and seven assists in 12 La Liga matches so far this season, while he also struck for the first time in the Champions League during the 2-1 defeat to Monaco.
He has linked up exceptionally well with Lewandowski, who has already hit the back of the net an astonishing 19 times in all competitions for Barca in 2024/25.
However, Yamal is currently on the sidelines with an ankle problem and missed Spain's fixtures during the November international break. He is doubtful to face Celta Vigo on Saturday night, but Lewandowski is expected to be fit despite missing Poland's matches over the last two weeks.
