Jamie Redknapp has just been talking about Moises Caicedo on Sky Sports after the midfielder’s superb performance against Liverpool.

The midfielder scored a superb goal to put the Blues 1-0 up, then was his usual brilliant self throughout the game. As the momentum went back and forth, Caicedo was the constant, breaking up play and consistently helping his team play forward and break the lines.

After the game, Sky pundit was full of effusive praise for the Ecuador star, who is having a sensational start to this season, despite the crazy number of minutes he’s being asked to play. We always want to find someone else to give the man of the match award to – but win or lose it’s always hard to find anyone in Blue who did better.

You can see Redknapp speaking in the clip embedded here:

Redknapp hails world class Chelsea midfielder

“Normally a number 6 doesn’t have this quality. But that is a rocket. Marmadashvili has no chance,” Redknapp said of the goal.

“Caicedo didn’t settle instantly and it’s taken time for him to adjust to what Chelsea want. You talk about him, Rodri, Gravenberch – those three are as good as anything in world football,” the former Reds midfielder continued.

“He possesses so many good attributes. When he hasn’t got the ball he’s incredible, he’s so hard to play against… he can pass the ball, he plays round the corner. There’s nothing he can’t do, there’s not a weakness in his game. Everything I hear about him he’s a top quality guy. No doubt about it he’s a world class player.”

What’s next? Champions League experience, and a rest, hopefully. He’s earned it.
