Inter have re-signed Aleksandar Stankovic from Club Brugge for €23m, but Gazzetta reports that the midfielder’s stay at San Siro remains unlikely as the Nerazzurri are prepared to receive €40m offers from the Bundesliga and the Premier League.

Serbian midfielder Stankovic, son of ex-Inter star Dejan, has returned to Inter from Club Brugge as the fresh Serie A champions have activated their option to re-sign the 20-year-old for €23m.

Will Stankovic stay at Inter in 2026-27?

Stankovic spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan in Belgium, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 55 appearances across all competitions, attracting interest from several clubs across Europe.

As already reported in May, Stankovic’s agent has been informed about interest from Premier League clubs that are ready to bid €40m to sign the promising central midfielder.

Aleksandar Stankovic returns to Inter from Club Brugge

Stankovic is a product of the Inter academy and has already worked under Cristian Chivu in the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team in 2022-23, alongside Francesco Pio Esposito.

Gazzetta reports that Chivu would gladly test Stankovic during the pre-season, so the midfielder’s stay at Inter remains a possibility.

At the same time, however, the Nerazzurri are aware that they’ll likely receive big-money offers for the 20-year-old this summer, particularly from England and Germany’s Bundesliga.

Gazzetta notes that Inter are open to selling Stankovic for €40m, so it’s currently unlikely that the Serbia international will remain at San Siro beyond the summer.
