Inter Miami add Abadia-Reda and Shaw on short-term deals from Inter Miami II | OneFootball

The club said in a statement that defender Cesar Abadia-Reda and midfielder Alexander Shaw have joined on short-term agreements from Inter Miami II. Both Academy graduates are available for today’s match at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Nicknamed Cheche, Abadia-Reda made his professional debut in March 2023, starting Inter Miami II’s MLS NEXT Pro opener against Chicago Fire II. He has since made 61 appearances, scoring two goals and supplying one assist.

He entered the Academy ahead of the 2021-22 season, shone with the under-17s, reached the 2022 Generation adidas Cup semi-finals and featured at the MLS NEXT Cup U-17 tournament. Internationally, he has been called up by the United States under-17 men’s national team.

Shaw, 17, is an Academy midfielder now featuring for Inter Miami II after his professional debut last July. In his first season he made 13 appearances and recorded two assists.

He recently appeared for the First Team in the opening Champions Tour fixture against Alianza Lima as a second-half substitute. He stayed involved through pre-season, coming off the bench against Barcelona SC and starting versus Independiente del Valle in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

Per MLS rules, short-term agreements let clubs bring in players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship and exhibition matches.
