Inter Miami have signed defender Cesar Abadia-Reda on a short-term deal from Inter Miami II, making the left-back available for today's match against D.C. United at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.

The club said in a statement that it is his first short-term agreement of the season and second overall, following a place in the squad for last July's home draw with FC Cincinnati.

Abadia-Reda initially joined Inter Miami's academy ahead of the 2021-22 campaign. He helped the U-17s reach the 2022 Generation adidas Cup semi-finals and featured at the MLS NEXT Cup U-17 tournament.

Known as Cheche, he made his professional debut in March 2023, starting Inter Miami II's MLS NEXT Pro season opener against Chicago Fire II. He has since made 61 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He has also been called up by the U.S. U-17 Men's National Team.

Under MLS rules, short-term agreements allow clubs to bring in MLS NEXT Pro players on loan for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship and exhibition matches.
