Inter Miami have signed goalkeeper Luis Barraza on a free-agent contract through June 2027, with an option to June 2028, the club said in a statement.
The 29-year-old arrives after the 2025 season with D.C. United, where he made 24 appearances and kept four clean sheets.
Born in New Mexico with Mexican roots, Barraza came through Real Salt Lake’s academy, then enjoyed four standout seasons at Marquette University. In 2018 he made the BIG EAST Men’s Soccer Championship All-Tournament Team and was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year, before New York City FC selected him 12th overall in the MLS SuperDraft.
After signing professionally with NYCFC, he had a loan spell at Oakland Roots in the USL Championship. He returned in 2021 to lift MLS Cup, then started the 2022 Campeones Cup against Atlas FC, keeping a clean sheet.
Barraza adds experienced cover to Inter Miami’s goalkeeping group and increases competition for places. Fans can secure season tickets for the 2026 campaign and opening MLS match at the club’s new home via https://www.intermiamicf.com/tickets/mfp.
