Cristian Chivu’s side thrashed the Czech champions in a one-sided affair at San Siro.

Indeed, Lautaro Martinez bagged a game-winning brace on his return to Europe’s table after missing the opening game due to injury.

El Toro scored in both halves, landing the first and the final blow on his way to winning the ‘Man of the Match’ award.

Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries chipped in with his first European goal of the season.

Dumfries was crucial to Inter’s run to the Champions League final last term, and he looks eager to continue in the same vein this season.

The 29-year-old slotted the ball into the empty net after Marcus Thuram picked him out in the six-yard box with an inch-perfect low cross.

Therefore, Dumfries has now tallied two goals this season after scoring in a 5-0 rout of Torino in the opening Serie A fixture.

“We’re happy,” Dumfries said after the game. “It was a great performance from us. Three-nil at home, everyone’s pleased.

“We have a strong squad, the Champions League is the toughest competition in the world, and we showed a great performance.

“For me, every match is important. When you play for Inter, you always have to aim to win.”

Then, he hailed Thuram’s assist for the goal.

“I’m happy to have scored. It was a brilliant build-up from Thuram, and I’m delighted.”

Dumfries started last weekend’s Serie A clash against Cagliari on the bench.

However, he regained his place in the starting lineup tonight after Luis Henrique failed to impress at the Unipol Domus.

Therefore, it won’t be surprising if he starts in Saturday’s home match against Cremonese again.
