Inter Milan, Barcelona & Real Sociedad On Bayern Munich Shortlist Of Kimmich Replacements | OneFootball

Hakan Calhanoglu, Frenkie de Jong, and Martin Zubimendi are on Bayern Munich’s shortlist of potential replacements for Joshua Kimmich.

This according to German outlet Sport1.de. They also report that Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller Manchester City veteran Ilkay Gundogan is another name on the Bavarians’ shortlist.

Yesterday, reports emerged that Bayern have rescinded their contract extension offer to midfielder Joshua Kimmich.

The German giants have reportedly grown impatient due to the 30-year-old’s lack of a response in contract talks.

Therefore, it looks increasingly possible that Kimmich could leave Bayern this summer after ten years at the club. His current contract runs out at the end of June.

In that case, Bayern would certainly look to replace Kimmich.

And while the German international is capable of playing at right-back, his main role in the team is in central midfield.

Therefore, Bayern’s priority would be to sign a midfielder with a similar profile to that of Kimmich.

Calhanoglu, De Jong & Zubimendi On Bayern Shortlist Of Kimmich Replacements

According to Sport1.de, Bayern are considering bringing back midfielder Angelo Stiller.

The 23-year-old came through Bayern’s youth academy. However, he left to join Hoffenheim in the summer of 2021.

Then in 2023, Stiller made the move to Stuttgart.

And the German has been in outstanding form for Stuttgart.

Therefore, Bayern are considering Stiller as a potential target to replace Kimmich.

However, there are other names on the Bavarians’ shortlist.

Last summer, Bayern had made an effort to bring Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to the Allianz Arena.

In the end, Calhanoglu turned Bayern’s bid down. He decided to stay at the Nerazzurri instead.

However, that certainly does not mean that Bayern’s interest in the 31-year-old former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder’s signature has subsided.

Meanwhile, another experienced option on Bayern’s radar would be Manchester CIty and former Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Then, reports Sport1.de, Bayern are also monitoring two midfielders from La Liga as potential replacements for Kimmich.

These would be Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.
