Simone Inzaghi could not find any solutions as Inter Milan looked slow, plodding, and predictable against Fiorentina.
As TuttoMercatoWeb highlight, the Nerazzurri coach came in for criticism in the player ratings for the match across Italian media.
Inter were quite simply outplayed by Fiorentina yesterday evening.
The Nerazzurri’s passing was not quick or incisive enough.
Meanwhile, there were far too many gaps in the Inter defensive shape.
Therefore, there’s no doubt that some blame has to go to individual players. Experienced stalwarts like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu for example did not play with anything like their usual quality.
But ultimately, it was Simone Inzaghi who set the team up.
Ultimately, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi simply seemed to fail to react.
The coach admitted that the signs of the team’s second half collapse were all there before halftime.

However, Inzaghi was not proactive, whether it meant a substitution or a change in approach.
Therefore, Fiorentina never really had too much to worry about defensively.
Then, once Inzaghi did make personnel changes it was too late.
The Nerazzurri coach did throw on two strikers in Marko Arnautovic and Mehdi Taremi. And he introduced players like Nicolo Barella and Federico Dimarco.
But nothing worked. Even as they desperately searched for a goal, Inter never really picked up the pace.
