Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that it would be the right decision for midfielder Davide Frattesi to stay at the Nerazzurri.

The Nerazzurri coach addressed the Italian international’s future in a press conference after his team’s 1-0 Serie A win over Venezia yesterday, via FCInterNews.

Frattesi’s future at Inter has become the subject of a lot of speculation in recent days.

Reports suggest that the Italian international has grown dissatisfied with his playing time (or lack thereof) at the Nerazzurri.

Therefore, Frattesi could very well push for an exit. That could be next summer, or even as early as the January transfer window.

Roma have been the club most strongly linked with a potential move for Frattesi. However, they aren’t the only ones, with Napoli also among the 25-year-old’s suitors.

On the other hand, Frattesi does still very much have a place at Inter.

The former Sassuolo midfielder did not start yesterday’s Serie A win over Venezia. However, he did come off the bench, and did very much have his role to play in seeing out the match.

Inzaghi: “If I Were Davide Frattesi, I’d Stay At Inter”

Inzaghi said that “Over the year and a half he’s been here, [Frattesi] has played a big part in my view.”

“We’ve gotten to where we want to be,” the Inter coach continued. “And that’s partly thanks to him.”

“He looks very good in training to me,” Inzaghi said of Frattesi.

“I heard from somewhere that he and I had a bust-up,” the Inter coach addressed some of the recent rumours. “But there was nothing like that.”

“Stankovic did extremely well to keep him from scoring today,” he said of Frattesi’s effort. “If I were him, I’d stay here.”

Meanwhile, Inzaghi said that “Inter drawing today would’ve made a lot of news – even if some of the other teams in the title race have slipped up.”

“But winning makes me happy. It means that we’ve grown.”

“Whenever we don’t win, news about these supposed bust-ups comes out,” the Inter coach hits out.

Then, Inzaghi also addressed some of the criticism that midfielder Kristjan Asllani has received. “He’s gotten a lot of overly harsh criticism,” he said of the Albanian.

“In the Supercoppa, there was some talk of him letting the team down – but on the goal, he was clearly fouled.”

“He did well today,” Inzaghi said of Asllani.”
