Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi will be relying on Marcus Thuram to spark his team’s attack against Hellas Verona.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that it’s likely to be Joaquin Correa starting alongside the Frenchman in the Serie A clash.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is thinking about how to manage the fitness of his squad over the next few matches. Starting with this evening’s clash with Verona.
Inter return to Serie A action against the Gialloblu. They are playing away at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.
And there will be one notable name absent from Inter’s list of attacking options.
Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez has pulled out of the squad due to flu-like symptoms.
Therefore, Inter coach Inzaghi will have to name an attack without the player who has been talismanic in front of goal.
Without Martinez, French international Thuram will become all the more important.
The 27-year-old is one of the two talismanic figures in attack in Inter’s regular starting eleven alongside Martinez.
And according to the Gazzetta, Thuram will undoubtedly start this evening’s match.
But while Martinez rests and recovers in Milan, it will be a different attacking partner for the Frenchman.
Joaquin Correa, Marko Arnautovic, and Mehdi Taremi are available as potential options.
And according to the Gazzetta, it will actually be Correa who starts this afternoon’s match.
This would be Correa’s first start of the season. He was expected to leave Inter during the summer, but remained and was reintegrated into the squad, and has made a few substitute appearances this season.
The Gazzetta report that Inter coach Inzaghi is ready to give Correa a chance from the start.
Then, waiting on the bench will be Arnautovic and Taremi.
