Inter Milan are ready to go all-in on signing Parma defender Giovanni Leoni, reinvesting money from sales in the 19-year-old.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that Parma want €40 million, but Inter could negotiate the fee down with a player-plus-cash offer.
The stars just seem to have aligned for Inter to target Giovanni Leoni.
The teenage Parma defender broke out last season playing under Cristian Chivu.
Therefore, the Romanian’s arrival as Inter coach has certainly pushed the Nerazzurri in the direction of Leoni.

And it’s not just Chivu who wants Inter to sign Giovanni Leoni. Behind the scenes, Tuttosport report that everyone at Inter sees the 19-year-old as the right choice.
Bolstering the defense is clearly a priority for Inter. They must find a long-term heir for aging stalwarts like Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij.
And Leoni, Tuttosport reports, is a player the Nerazzurri believe can grow in the same way that Alessandro Bastoni has.
Therefore, Leoni is the big priority target for the rest of the summer.
Parma want €40 million for their breakout defender. But Inter will be ready to invest the cash they bring in from sales on the teenager.
Moreover, Tuttosport anticipate, Inter could also offer a player as part of the deal. This could reduce the cash fee to somewhere around €30 million.
