Inter Milan chiefs have extended new manager Cristian Chivu a warm welcome at San Siro.
Per Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the 44-year-old enjoys full support from the club’s leadership.
Inter’s pursuit of Simone Inzaghi’s successor ended yesterday as they unveiled Cristian Chivu as the new boss.
However, the 2010 treble winner wasn’t the top candidate for the job.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri turned to Chivu only after Como coach Cesc Fabregas turned down a move to San Siro.
Nonetheless, he returns to his old stomping ground with the full backing of the board and a deep understanding of the club’s values.

Despite being new to senior management, Chivu is familiar with the surroundings.
After winning the iconic treble under Jose Mourinho, he coached Inter’s Primavera side between 2021 and 2024.
Meanwhile, his first taste of top-flight management came in the second half of last season.
Parma chose him to replace Fabio Pecchia, and he repaid that trust by helping the Crusaders maintain their Serie A status.
However, this is a much sterner test for Chivu, especially given Inter’s mental state after a heart-wrenching 2024/25 season.
His first assignment will be to mentally recover his side at the FIFA Club World Cup.
