Legendary former midfielder Evaristo Beccalossi feels that Davide Frattesi is “the future of Inter Milan” and can start for a decade to come.

Beccalossi gave his thoughts on the 24-year-old in an interview in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Midfielder Frattesi has been at Inter for more than a season now.

The Italian international joined the Nerazzurri from Sassuolo last summer.

Inter invested quite a bit of money to bring Frattesi in. But the 24-year-old did not cement a starting place for himself right away.

Last season, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi tended to opt for the starting trio of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Nicolo Barella.

And this time around, Piotr Zielinski has arrived from Napoli. The Pole certainly makes the competition for starting places even fiercer in midfield.

Beccalossi: “Davide Frattesi Is The Future Of Inter”

But in the view of legendary former Inter midfielder Beccalossi, Frattesi will grow into his place.

“He’ll be a starter for the next ten years,” he boldly predicted of the 24-year-old.

“He’s been on the bench so far, but what’s the problem?”

Beccalossi declared that “Frattesi is the future of Inter.”

“Inzaghi will have to manage the entire squad well, particularly because the players can always show their age.”

“Before, people said that Inter didn’t have any proper backups,” Beccalossi noted. “Now people act like the backups have to always play. Relax, guys.”

Of midfielder Nicolo Barella, Beccalossi commented that “He’s still a hugely important player for Inter.”

“Obviously it’s too bad about his injury. But the squad has been built for this situation.”

Beccalossi then called Frattesi “A player with incredible quality.”

“I’d already watched him at Sassuolo, and also with the Italy youth team.”

“He’s a great midfielder at making late runs,” Beccalossi said of Frattesi.
