Inter Milan “haven’t been the same team” while Denzel Dumfries and Marcus Thuram have been absent due to injury.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have not exactly been in an injury crisis in the last few weeks.
However, the injuries that have affected the Nerazzurri have been significant ones.
Striker Marcus Thuram has missed the last two matches after suffering some muscular fatigue in last week’s Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, wingback Denzel Dumfries and midfielder Piotr Zielinski have been out with longer. They’ve been absent for more than a month with strains to their thigh and calf respectively.

In matches against Bologna and AC Milan, Inter have suffered consecutive losses for the first time this season.
Moreover, the Nerazzurri did so without scoring a goal.
That is no coincidence, Tuttosport argue.
While Inter had plenty of possession, particularly against Milan, they lacked the ability to really cut through either team.
On the right flank, Matteo Darmian has put in some reasonably solid performances. However, the 35-year-old simply doesn’t have the pace or acceleration that Dumfries.
Moreover, Dumfries has proven a player who just has a knack to choose the right moments to attack the opposition penalty area.
Meanwhile, without Thuram, Inter have missed the player who is most capable of surprising an opposition defense with a clever dribble or turn of pace.
The likes of Mehdi Taremi and Joaquin Correa have not proven effective foils for Lautaro Martinez in comparison to the Frenchman’s electric pace.
