Inter Milan are reportedly planning a summer move for Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo as part of their long-term squad renewal strategy under Oaktree ownership.

He is young, physically strong, already experienced at top level and crucially not a heavy burden on the wage bill.

Indeed, a key consideration for the club’s American ownership.

The 2005-born centre-back has already accumulated experience in both Serie A and European competition despite his age, and is currently valued at around €30 million.

Inter are keen not to miss out on what they see as another potential cornerstone of the club’s future.

The Nerazzurri hierarchy view Comuzzo as part of a new generation that could form the backbone of the team in the years ahead.

The move would not be immediate.

Inter are not expected to pursue the deal during the January window.

Any potential negotiation is being pushed back to the summer of 2026.

Fiorentina could also raise their asking price over time.

However, for now the club’s primary focus remains their fight for survival rather than transfer negotiations.

Inter’s interest is also shaped by an imminent defensive transition.

Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are both expected to leave at the end of the season.

Therefore prompting the Nerazzurri to invest in younger, ready-made options with long-term upside.

Club president Beppe Marotta is also keen to increase the Italian core of the squad.

With Comuzzo potentially joining Bastoni, and possibly Vicario, Inter’s defence could soon take on a distinctly Italian identity.
