Inter Milan are already planning for next season with a clear philosophy in mind, unpredictability as Cristian Chivu wants a squad that is harder to read, more dynamic and more capable of breaking down stubborn defences than the current iteration.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, that single word, unpredictability, defines the blueprint for Inter’s second season under Chivu.
The Nerazzurri currently sit six points clear at the top of Serie A, but the Romanian coach is already thinking beyond the title race.
Chivu believes this season’s squad has at times been too rigid and predictable in its movements and structure.
Next summer, Inter’s directors will search specifically for players who offer dribbling, explosive bursts and acceleration, qualities the club attempted but failed to bring in a few months ago.
The reference is clear. Moussa Diaby was the prime target in January, Al-Ittihad blocked the move. That pursuit continues this summer.
Nico Williams is the dream.
Goretzka would add physicality and box-to-box energy to the midfield.
The overall vision is a team that unsettles opponents not just through organisation and structure, Inter’s current strengths, but through individual moments of brilliance and spontaneity that are impossible to plan for.
Chivu’s second Inter must be unpredictable. The summer market is where that transformation begins.
