Inter Milan host Barcelona at the San Siro in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final at 8pm (UK time) on Tuesday 6th May. The tie is evenly-poised after a 3-3 draw at the Estadi Olimpic Luis Companys, with both sides surely still fancying their chances of reaching the final. This game will be broadcast live on Amazon Prime Video.
Raphinha is the top scorer in the Champions League this season with 12 goals, with five of those coming away from home.
The first leg may have seen six goals scored, but the San Siro isn’t a place where Inter concede in the Champions League this season. The Nerazzurri have conceded just three goals in their six home Champions League games this season.
Inter Milan and Barcelona have eight Champions Leagues and 14 final appearances between them. But only one will get a chance to add to their tally. Inter are three-time European champions and last appeared in the final in 2023, when they lost to Manchester City. The Nerazzurri have looked good in the Champions League this season, finishing fourth in the group stage with six wins from eight, earning direct passage to the last 16. Feyenoord and Bayern Munich have fallen on Inter’s way to the semi-finals, and they’ll be happy enough to have left Camp Nou with a draw.
Barcelona went into the semi-finals as favourites, and while their odds have dropped slightly, they’ll still fancy their chances. The Blaugrana have won the Champions League five times, with their 2015 success the last time they were in the final. Barcelona were second in the group stage this season, leading a group of three teams on 19 points — including Inter. That set them up with a last 16 tie against Benfica, with Barcelona then knocking out Borussia Dortmund.
Lautaro Martinez had to come off at half-time in the first leg due to injury, and is now a doubt for the return fixture. He could join Benjamin Pavard on the sidelines, with Mehdi Taremi a potential to replace Martinez.
Jules Kounde suffered an injury in the first half at the Estadi Olimpic Luis Companys and will miss the second leg according to reports. Marc Casado is also out, but Alejandro Balde and Robert Lewandowski could return from their respective injuries.
This will be the 18th meeting between these two sides, with Barcelona enjoying eight wins to Inter’s three. But Inter are unbeaten in their past three games against Barcelona, all in the Champions League
