Cagliari striker Sebastiano Esposito will face former club Inter Milan in a high-stakes Serie A clash on Friday night.
According to Tuttosport via FCInteNews, the Islanders’ hopes of upsetting the odds at San Siro will rest on the 23-year-old’s shoulders.
Sebastiano Esposito joined Fabio Pisacane’s side on loan with an obligation to buy last summer after failing to secure regular first-team football at Inter.
Despite a rough start to life at the Unipol Domus, the Italian center-forward has enjoyed an impressive first season in Sardinia.
Indeed, he has cemented his first-team status at the club, emerging as Cagliari’s top scorer in Serie A with six goals.
Sitting just six points clear of the bottom three, Cagliari have yet to stave off relegation fears, wit only six games left to play.
However, Pisacane’s men ended a disappointing four-game losing league streak last weekend, courtesy of a narrow 1-0 home win over Cremonese.
Furthermore, Esposito scored the winning strike, flicking home Jose Pedro’s cross with a thumping header.
As a result, he has now scored in back-to-back Serie A games for the second time this season.
Therefore, Inter must be wary of the in-form striker, who could cause problems on his old stomping ground tomorrow.
