Cristian Chivu is preparing to face Lazio with a largely familiar lineup, but all eyes will be on the Inter defensive setup with Manuel Akanji and Yann Bisseck forming a strong core.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Romanian coach plans to keep Akanji and Bisseck in his starting XI, rewarding their consistency and strong recent displays.

Akanji has become virtually untouchable on the right side of the back three, a pillar of Chivu’s high-pressing Inter.

The Swiss international has featured in every Serie A match this season.

Furthermore, he continues to set the standard with his composure, pace, and positional awareness.

Indeed, ahead of more experienced options Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi.

The German has steadily earned Chivu’s confidence, impressing with his strength, aerial presence.

Alessandro Bastoni will complete the trio on the left, with Yann Sommer in goal.

In midfield, Hakan Calhanoglu is expected to return as regista between Nicolò Barella and Petar Sucic.
