Inter Milan are planning a loan move for Andy Diouf next season, with Sassuolo pushing hardest to secure the French midfielder and Venezia also in the picture should they win promotion back to Serie A.
Diouf arrived in the summer of 2025 on a contract until 2030 but has featured in just 14 matches this season, almost always as a substitute.
The incoming midfield business, most notably Koné and Stankovic, leaves even less room for the young Frenchman.
According to reports from L’Interista, Sassuolo have already made their interest known to Inter directly.
The Emilian club want Diouf and Inter are open to the idea, a loan would give him the regular Serie A minutes he needs to develop competitively.
Furthermore, the good relationship between Inter and Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali could facilitate a broader deal.
Ismael Koné and Muharemovic are already part of the ongoing conversation between the two clubs, meaning Diouf could form part of a wider package.
Indeed, Venezia represent a secondary option. The Venetian club are pushing for Serie A promotion and a return to the top flight could open the door to a loan move.
Therefore, an Inter-Venezia axis could develop further, with Filip Stankovic also potentially moving there as backup goalkeeper behind Vicario.
For Diouf, the priority is clear. He needs to play. A loan move is the logical next step.
