Inter Milan visit Cremonese on Sunday night in Serie A, with the league leaders looking to widen their advantage at the top of the Italian top flight.
The Nerazzurri arrive in Cremona with the title firmly in their sights, while the hosts are desperate to halt a damaging slump in results that has pulled them perilously close to the relegation fight.
Cristian Chivu’s men have become the reference point in Serie A this season, putting together a ten-game unbeaten run in the league.
Inter underlined their dominance in their last outing by winning against Pisa 6-2, a result that perfectly summed up the firepower that has driven their campaign. That victory helped preserve a five-point cushion over city rivals AC Milan at the summit, underlining both their consistency and superiority in the title race.
Inter have amassed more wins than any other side and boast one of the most potent forward lines across Europe’s major leagues, already moving beyond the 50-goal barrier. Their form away from home has been equally outstanding, with eight victories on the road and only nine goals conceded in those away fixtures.
Chivu will, however, be forced into changes due to a growing injury list. Creative fulcrum Hakan Calhanoglu remains sidelined, as do all‑action midfielder Nicolò Barella and right-back Denzel Dumfries, who continues his recovery following ankle surgery.
Brazilian defender Carlos Augusto has also been withdrawn from contention as a precaution because of muscle fatigue, with Inter opting not to take any risks amid a congested schedule.
To offset these absences, the club have promoted three standout prospects from the Under‑23 squad—Leonardo Bovo, Matteo Cocchi and Issiaka Kamate—who will travel with the group and gain valuable exposure to the senior environment.
Possible Inter Milan starting XI: Sommer; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Henrique, Frattesi, Zielinski, Sucic, Dimarco; Martinez, Esposito.
The match will kick off at 5pm BST on Sunday, 1st February.
For fans in the United Kingdom, the game will be available to watch live on TNT Sports.
