The representatives of Davide Frattesi will try again to convince Inter to sell their client in January and aren’t eyeing only Juventus as a possible landing spot. Roma, Napoli, and Newcastle United could be interested as well, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Nerazzurri seem more inclined to let him go this time. They were worried about not strengthening a rival in previous windows. They could simply take the best offer now.

Frattesi had grown unhappy because of his inconsistent playing time under Simone Inzaghi, while he had a relatively quiet summer after Inter hired Christian Chivu. The new boss envisioned a different role for him, as a no.10, if they landed a muscular midfielder. Plus, he was rehabbing from sports hernia surgery at the time.

The plan didn’t come to fruition. He’s been surpassed by Petar Sucic and Piotr Zielinski in the hierarchy. He has made 13 appearances so far, totaling 480 minutes. The Nerazzurri ask for about €30M. Despite Juventus’ rebuttal, they still believe a swap with Khephren Thuram could be on the table if they added some cash consideration.

Roma have tried a few times to bring back their youth product, but they have FFP-related issues. Napoli are indeed looking for help at the position.

Our Take on Inter and Frattesi

They are indeed in better shape in the midfield, and he’s been worse than in previous campaigns, when he was at least a solid super-sub. On the other hand, his price tag remains prohibitive given his role and stature. He’d play more elsewhere, but, unless the respective coaches tweak their schemes, he’d be a luxury item rather than a centerpiece on other sides, too.
