A fascinating clash in an amazing location: on Saturday 1 August Inter will take on Manchester City at the Kai-Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, in a match involving two of the biggest sides in Europe.

The match between Inter and Manchester City will be one of the fixtures of the Hong Kong Football Festival. The prestigious football event, presented in Hong Kong in the presence of Inter legend Christian Vieri, will take place in the Asian city between 31 July and 5 August and will be organised by TEG Sports, a global producer and promoter of major sporting events, under the patronage of the Football Association of Hong Kong, China.

The friendly match is scheduled to take place at the Kai-Tak Stadium, a 50,000 seat venue located within the state of the art Kai Tak Sports Park, a complex inaugurated in 2025 and built on the site previously occupied by the airport of the same name.

It will be the first of three international fixtures that Inter will play overseas next summer. After the match against Manchester City, the Nerazzurri will travel to Perth, Australia, for friendly matches against AC Milan on Wednesday 5 August and Juventus on Saturday 8 August.

INTER IN HONG KONG

It will not be the first time Inter have been in Hong Kong: the Nerazzurri already played in the city on 18 June 1997, when at the end of the season they travelled there to play a friendly against Sing Tao, a local team beaten 8-0 at the Hong Kong Stadium, with three goals from Ganz and strikes from Zamorano, Kallon, Winter, Ince and Djorkaeff.

The official head to head meetings between Inter and Manchester City are only two: the Champions League final played in Istanbul on 10 June 2023, and the match on matchday one of the league phase of the 2024/25 European season, which ended 0 0 in Manchester. In friendlies, the two sides have met twice: in 2010 in Baltimore, United States, Inter won 3-0 with a brace from Obinna and a superb goal from a very young Cristiano Biraghi, while the following year in Dublin, Ireland, the Citizens beat Inter by the same scoreline.

The Hong Kong match will be an opportunity to once again renew a remarkable clash between two major European football clubs.
