Ousmane Dembélé hit a 25-minute hat-trick in France’s 4-1 win over Norway, the Paris Saint-Germain winger earning widespread praise abroad.
In Spain, Mundo Deportivo devoted its front page to him, portraying the winger as a possible star of the tournament, while Sport said the treble puts him among the leading 2026 Ballon d’Or candidates. Both highlighted his combinations with Kylian Mbappé between Norway’s lines, as France finished top of their group.
Gazzetta dello Sport presented it as the Dembélé show and underlined that France’s victory came against a rotated Norway side, with the European champions impressing throughout.
Corriere dello Sport wrote that France sank Norway and described Dembélé’s hat-trick as breathtaking, adding that his remarkable season may still have more to give.
Mbappé did not score, but he supplied two assists to underpin France’s attacking fluency.
The Athletic called the display a timely reminder of Dembélé’s talent, noting that pre-match focus on a potential Mbappé versus Erling Haaland narrative faded once a rotated Norway team took the field and the spotlight shifted firmly onto the France winger.
