Ipswich Town chairman Mark Ashton has issued an apology to the club's fans after Nigel Farage's recent visit sparked backlash.

The Reform UK leader toured The Tractor Boy's Portman Road stadium on Monday (23 March), ahead of a rally in the town.

During his visit, he posed for photographs in the dressing room, media facilities and pitchside, recording a video where he thanked the Suffolk club for the “lovely welcome” he received.

Mr Ashton admitted "the staff, fanbase, and elements of the local community are hurting", and apologised for any "pain, hurt, or distress that's been caused."
