Ipswich Town host Queens Park Rangers in the Championship at Portman Road on Saturday, 2 May 2026, with the hosts chasing automatic promotion and the visitors aiming to consolidate a mid-table finish.

The Tractor Boys are unbeaten in five league games, drawing four and winning once in that run, and have lost only one at home this season. Queens Park Rangers have slipped with three straight defeats after back to back draws.

The Tractor Boys are without Ashley Young, David Button, Conor Townsend and Jack Taylor. Queens Park Rangers miss Paul Smyth, Jimmy Dunne, Rumarn Burrell, Karamoko Dembele, Kwame Poku, Ziyad Larkeche and Richard Kone. Burrell and Kone are joint top scorers this season with 10 goals each.

Kieran McKenna's side have scored 77 and kept 16 clean sheets, usually enjoying more of the ball, so they could look to control the game at Portman Road. Queens Park Rangers have conceded 70 but carry an aerial and crossing threat, with 10 headed goals and strong open play delivery, so set pieces and wide balls could be their route.

A win would take the Tractor Boys to 84 points and could tighten their grip on the automatic promotion places. Victory for Queens Park Rangers would move them to 61 points and could lift them within the mid-table pack.
