An enormous battle towards the foot of the Premier League table takes place on Saturday afternoon as Ipswich Town host Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves secured a hugely significant victory over West Ham United on Tuesday evening and will move a potentially insurmountable 12 points ahead of 18th-placed Ipswich should they taste victory at Portman Road. Defeat for the Tractor Boys could prove the final nail in their coffin.

Victory, however, will keep dreams of survival alive. Ipswich were also midweek winners as they secured a surprise 2-1 victory over Bournemouth on the south coast and the prospect of moving within six points of safety will be a gargantuan motivator for the Suffolk side.

Ipswich were without Omari Hutchinson and Leif Davis due to injury midweek and Kieran McKenna has revealed he's unsure when the duo will return from their fitness problems.

The pair join Wes Burns, Chiedozie Ogbene, Sammie Szmodics and Arijanet Muric in the treatment room, with McKenna's forward options particularly limited.

Nathan Broadhead did ease Ipswich's attacking woes by scoring his first Premier League goal against Bournemouth and he will be expected to operate in and around Liam Delap, who was also on the scoresheet at the Vitality Stadium.

Wolves remain without suspended Matheus Cunha after he was sent off against Bournemouth in the FA Cup fifth round, with fellow forwards Sasa Kalajdzic, Leon Chiwome and Enso Gonzalez still missing in the forward line.

Yerson Mosquera is sidelined for the rest of the season but the impressive performances of Emmanuel Agbadou since his arrival during the winter window have helped ease Wolves' defensive concerns.

Vitor Pereira is unlikely to make many alterations from the side that secured victory over West Ham last time out.

Ipswich vs Wolves score prediction

Ipswich will be flying high after Wednesday's win but could come crashing back down to earth against the in-form Wolves. Pereira's side have won three and drawn one of their last five Premier League matches and could move further from the drop zone on Saturday.

Jorgen Strand Larsen may be the difference-maker at Portman Road having scored three in his last two outings and the Norwegian could deliver a fatal blow to Ipswich's slim hopes of survival.
