Alexander Isak's expressed his delight after sealing blockbuster move to Liverpool on the final day of the 2025 summer transfer window.
Liverpool confirmed the capture of the Swedish forward from Newcastle United for 130 million sterling pound, just hours after the market officially closed in England.
The Premier League granted the Reds along with other clubs an exceptional extension after all documents were submitted on time.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Isak shared his excitement:
"I feel extremely happy. It has been long journey to get here but I’m proud to be part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. I can’t wait to get started"
The 25 year old striker had been sidelined for over 2 month following his fallout with Newcastle. He
refused to take part in pre season or league games after his transfer request was denied sparking fierce standoff with the Magpies’ board.
Isak who'll wear the iconic No9 shirt until 2031, underlined his hunger:
"I know I've a lot to give and areas to improve. As striker scoring goals is my main target but I want much more than that .. I want to win everything"
The deal makes Isak Liverpool’s ninth signing of the summer and their most expensive acquisition ever underlining the club’s determination to defend their PL crown.
