It now seems only a matter of time before Manchester City completes the signing of Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. It has seemed for the past week that all roads lead to the Etihad for the Ghana international. After Semenyo chose to join Pep Guardiola’s squad as his preferred option, all that had to be settled between City and Bournemouth was the finer details of how Semenyo’s release clause would be paid. A new report indicates that Manchester City’s move for Semenyo is now at an advanced stage, and City could potentially sign Semenyo in the coming days.
Lyall Thomas has reported for Sky Sports that talks between Manchester City and Bournemouth over a deal that will see Antoine Semenyo sign for City are now at an advanced stage. Furthermore, Thomas reports that City are close to finalising personal terms with Semenyo. It is also reported by Thomas that there is no rush for City and Bournemouth to complete their negotiations. Semenyo’s release clause doesn’t become active until Thursday when the transfer window opens. Lastly, Thomas reports that no other club has moved to negotiate with Bournemouth over signing Semenyo.

It remains to be seen when Antoine Semenyo will join Manchester City. Based on Lyall Thomas’ report City and Bournemouth are close to concluding negotiations over Semenyo. That was to be expected considering that Semenyo’s release clause makes it a relatively simple deal to complete. The only question looks to be when Semenyo will join Pep Guardiola’s squad.
It is hard to see City wasting anytime in completing their move for Antoine Semenyo. The release clause in Semenyo’s deal is active from January 1st to January 10. It would seem that it is in City’s best interests to have Semenyo sign on the dotted line as soon as possible. The quicker he is signed, the quicker that Semenyo’s integration into Pep Guardiola’s squad will begin.
There doesn’t appear to be any late road blocks in Manchester City’s move for Antoine Semenyo. The bigger question seems to be when the Ghana international will arrive at the Etihad.
