Noni Madueke praised both the Arsenal supporters and the culture around the club having impressed under Mikel Arteta since his summer move from Chelsea.

The England winger signed for the Gunners for £52m in July and enjoyed a strong start to the season, before suffering a knee injury which has sidelined him since September.

“The team has been great,” Madueke told Arsenal’s The Dispatch podcast, reflecting on his start to life at the club.

“Of course we’re flying, but it’s not just a team full of great and talented players, it’s a team full of good people.

“I think the culture around here is probably the best I’ve seen.”

The signing of Madueke was met with backlash from some supporters but the 23-year-old thanked the fans for the support they have shown him since he joined.

“In terms of the supporters, it was a bit dicey at the start,” Madueke laughed.

“It was a bit dicey at the start on social media and stuff before I came to the club.

“But when I’ve been in the stadium, I haven’t felt that close to the fans to be honest. Obviously I play on the side of the pitch so I can hear them throughout the game pushing me on. Whenever I get the ball I hear them.

“God willing, hopefully it continues because it gives me a big boost. I always love playing at the Emirates, I’m always looking forward to the next game when I’m back at the Emirates so the fans have been amazing.”
