Italian journalist Riccardo Trevisani has praised Inter Milan for improving their team after last season’s heartbreak.

During the Fontana di Trevi podcast via FCInter1908, Trevisani waxed lyrical about Inter’s summer business.

Inter Milan parted ways with Simone Inzaghi at the end of last season.

Despite being in the running for a treble in mid-April, the Nerazzurri finished the 2024/25 campaign empty-handed.

Therefore, the club turned to Cristian Chivu in June to fill the vacancy.

Furthermore, Inter cut ties with several underperforming stars, including Marko Arnautovic, Mehdi Taremi, and Joaquin Correa.

On the other hand, Francesco Pio Esposito and Ange-Yoan Bonny arrived to strengthen Chivu’s attacking options.

Though it’s still too early to draw conclusions, the newcomers have already outshone their predecessors.

Meanwhile, Chivu has done a sterling job helping the team mentally recover from last year’s upset.

Despite a sluggish start, the Nerazzurri are back on track, winning five competitive matches in a row.

“We’ve said many times that Inter is a team that plays well,” Trevisani said. “But it’s also a very strong team.

“This year, they’re even stronger than in previous seasons because their forwards give you something to admire and benefit from.

“Bonny has a goal and three assists, Pio comes on and scores. Previously, Taremi didn’t click, Correa scored one goal a year, and Arnautovic was always injured.

“Lautaro and Thuram had to play 70 matches without a break, finishing the season exhausted. Here, the story is very different.

“If Lautaro gets injured? He sits out two and rests. If Thuram gets injured, it’s a problem for Inter.

“However, with Bonny performing like he did the other day, it’s a smaller problem.

“Inter have improved their alternatives and done it very well, taking into account the problems of last season.

“We remember Arnautovic’s goal against Atletico, which was a flash of brilliance for him at Inter.

“But, in that match, he missed several chances, and because of those missed goals, Inter exited.

“With Bonny and Pio, Inter have greatly strengthened their attacking line. Even though they’re young, who cares – they’re strong.

“And I also want to say this – Chivu said he doesn’t want to change Inter or remove what it has been.

“I’ll add that everyone knows this team has played the best football in the last four years, and they’re repeating that in these first six matches.

“He wants to eliminate the flaws and things that aren’t working well. I continue to like this management, both in words and deeds.

“I’m convinced that with the attack reinforced in this way, and with Sucic replacing Asllani, the team has improved.
