Nicolo Barella will be fit enough for the bench in Inter Milan’s Serie A match against Como tomorrow evening.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter and Italy midfielder Barella is currently dealing with a bit of an injury problem.
The 27-year-old suffered a slight elongation in the adductor longus muscles of his right thigh during Inter’s Serie A match against Lazio last week.
Therefore, Barella was not part of Inter’s squad against Udinese in the Coppa Italia.
Meanwhile, Barella’s inclusion in the squad to face Como tomorrow has been in doubt.
According to the Gazzetta, though, Barella has already returned to training.
The 27-year-old completed half of yesterday’s training session with the rest of the squad.
Therefore, a return to the pitch is right around the corner for Barella already.
Today’s training will be important. Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will assess whether Barella is ready to make his return as early as tomorrow.
One thing that’s clear is that the former Cagliari midfielder will hardly be ready to come straight back into the starting eleven tomorrow.
However, Barella should be ready to at least be on the bench for the Serie A match.
