Chivas delivered a very convincing performance against Atlético San Luis on Saturday afternoon at Estadio Libertad Financiera, earning their fourth consecutive victory to start the Clausura 2026 and retaining the overall league lead. El Rebaño rose to the challenge against an opponent that proposed an open, end-to-end match, once again showing that they have the tools to compete against any rival and in any game scenario.

Gabriel Milito emphasized this point in his post-match press conference, noting that the win was deserved, but also that the team still has plenty of room to grow before reaching its true potential. Here’s what the coach told the media:

“We talked about it during preseason and with the arrival of the reinforcements: the importance of always winning, of collecting as many points as possible, and doing it with solid arguments.”

“The opponent had their merits. For us, it’s always important not to concede goals; today we conceded two, and that’s something we need to improve.”

“We analyze performance beyond the result—what we did well and what we can improve, regardless of whether we win, draw, or lose.”

“We’re a team that little by little is finding consistency, and that’s important. We have room for improvement, we have to evolve in some aspects, but we’ve started well.”

“We’re aware that we can do things better. Maintaining this run of matches is difficult, but we have to celebrate the win.”

“It’s important for Armando to score goals and finish chances for the team. He has that gift of always being well positioned in the box when the ball arrives so he can finish.”

“I’m happy for ‘Hormiga.’ Hopefully he keeps this streak going—not just because of the goals, but because of everything he does with and without the ball. He’s very hungry, and that will help him continue to improve.”

“I think there are players who can play in more than one position—that’s a quality very few footballers have. Fortunately, we have several profiles like Romo, Campillo, Efraín, Cotorro, and Richard.”

“Govea is a player who gives us a lot of composure on the ball and a strong understanding of the game. Beyond that, he’s a team player who puts in the work for the group. Everything he’s achieved has been earned, and he’s become a fundamental player for us.”
