West Ham United have had a miserable Premier League campaign so far.
Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest leaves the Hammers just six points above the relegation zone.
Manager Julen Lopetegui is under enormous pressure who has failed to implement his style of play since coming into the job at the London Stadium last summer.
According to The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, West Ham will review the Spaniard’s position if they lose at home to Everton on Saturday.
It is said the club are hugely alarmed by the recent results that have left them just six points above the bottom three.
If the Irons end up losing to Everton, they will use the international break to line up short- and long-term candidates to replace him.
They have already made background checks on Sebastian Hoeness, Kasper Hjulmand and Roger Schmidt.
Lopetegui was expected to introduce an attacking brand of football and also revive the club’s fortunes.
But the Spaniard has failed to do both and now looks to be on the brink of getting sacked.
To relieve some pressure off him, Lopetegui must win the next match against the Merseyside outfit . The Hammers will be playing at home against a side who are one of the favourites to suffer relegation.
However, that will be easier said than done as Sean Dyche’s side have taken nine points from their previous seven league matches.
They also performed well against Southampton last weekend but a late Adam Armstrong goal ended their five-game unbeaten run in the English top-flight.
