Jaka Bijol has been selected to start for Slovenia on Sunday, giving the Leeds United defender another platform to extend his impressive form.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, head coach Bostjan Cesar named him in the squad for two June friendlies. Bijol then played every minute of Thursday’s 1-1 draw at home to Cyprus.
The towering centre-back, signed from Udinese last summer, grew into his first season at Elland Road, starting United’s last nine matches and playing every minute of seven.
Slovenia’s second June friendly kicks off at 7.45pm at Stadion Anđelko Herjavec in Varazdin.
The contest offers a final look at England’s first World Cup opponents before the Three Lions meet Croatia in their group-stage opener.
