Over the past few months, there has been considerable speculation surrounding the future of Jamal Musiala at Bayern Munich.
The German international’s contract is set to expire at the Allianz Arena in 2026, and Der Rekordmeister have made it abundantly clear that they hope to extend his deal before the end of the campaign.
This is to fend off interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City, who would hope to persuade the midfielder to depart Bavaria for a cut price or even on a free transfer.
In recent weeks, it has been understood that talks between Bayern and Musiala have taken place, but as to whether the 21-year-old has been looking to renew his deal with the record champions has not been clear.
Nevertheless, after Bayern’s 4-0 victory over Mainz in the DFB-Pokal, Musiala commented on his Bayern Munich future for the first time.
When asked about whether he will look to remain at the club beyond 2026, Muaiala revealed, “I can imagine that. We are in talks. I am happy. I am enjoying my time here.”
While it will still undoubtedly take time for any agreement between both parties to come to a conclusion, it is clear that the German international would be open to remaining in Bavaria beyond 2026.
