James Rodriguez has resumed training with Minnesota United after a hospital stay, with the club denying he has a serious illness.

The club said in a statement that the 34-year-old was admitted for three days with severe dehydration, two days after playing in Colombia's 1-3 defeat to France on 29 March, and that there is no medical evidence of rhabdomyolysis.

He was discharged home under medical supervision and returned to training on Monday.

He will be eased back into full sessions in line with his clinical progress.

Hampered by fitness issues and visa problems, the former Monaco playmaker, top scorer at the 2014 World Cup, has played only 39 minutes this year since joining in February.
