The Foxes man will be hoping to make an impact against the Three Lions.

Jamie Vardy may have represented England in a World Cup, but that has not stopped him from giving one of the Three Lions' upcoming opponents advice ahead of their showdown.

Vardy made four appearances in Russia 2018, including one start against Belgium in the group stage, but was unable to find the back of the net for Gareth Southgate's side.

The 39-year-old will surely be cheering for England on Tuesday night as they face Ghana in their second group game, but evidently he will be hoping one of the Black Stars performs too.

Indeed, the player in question is one of two Leicester City players striving to make their mark on football's grandest stage.

Abdul Fatawu reveals Jamie Vardy advice ahead of England showdown

Abdul Fatawu has regularly been linked with a move away from Leicester, and that speculation has only intensified as the Foxes suffered relegation to the third tier.

With that in mind, the FIFA World Cup has arrived at the perfect time for the winger to show everyone what he can do as he aims to catch the eye of potential suitors.

The 22-year-old came on as a second-half substitute in his country's opening victory over Panama as his team-mate Jordan Ayew captained the side, and he will be pushing for a start against England.

Fatawu is said to have formed a close friendship with Vardy while they were together at the King Power Stadium, and the Ghanaian has revealed that he has been speaking to him ahead of Tuesday's match.

"He's always speaking about the game, and Vardy is one of the guys who really trusts me," Fatawu told The Sun.

"He told me to do my thing, and that is why I can't wait for the opportunity to show everyone what I can do."

Will Abdul Fatawu be given chance to shine against England?

Given that Ghana won their opening group game, it would be unsurprising if their manager, Carlos Queiroz, named an unchanged side against England.

However, the Three Lions will offer a far superior threat to Panama, and with that in mind, Queiroz may decide to play a more defensive shape to his preferred 4-3-3 formation.

The main barrier to Fatawu receiving a start comes in the form of Ghana's star player Antoine Semenyo, who started the first game and received the Man of the Match award in the process.

Fatawu bagged nine goals and eight assists in Leicester's dismal Championship season and came out as one of the few players with their reputation still intact.

Of course, there is the possibility that the Manchester City man could be deployed on either wing, which could open the door to Leicester's star, who will be itching to make an impact.

However, with Reece James and Nico O'Reilly primed to start for the Three Lions, Semenyo would surely fancy his chances against his City teammate, who delivered a below-par performance against Croatia and is weaker defensively than James.

Whatever happens, Fatawu is set for a bright future in the game, and all eyes will be on whether he can channel his advice from Vardy on the world stage.
