Jason Cundy was full of praise for Enzo Fernandez following Chelsea’s win against Tottenham on Thursday night at Stamford Bridge.

The win was crucial given their rivals for Champions League qualification Manchester City and Newcastle both won on Wednesday night, and it gives them momentum heading into Sunday’s game at Brentford.

Cundy hails Fernandez performance

Chelsea were handed a much needed boost with Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer returning to the starting line-up, but there was bad news with Wesley Fofana missing out after picking up another injury.

Maresca left Reece James on the bench meaning Fernandez captained the side, and following on from his impressive form over the international break he delivered a man of the match performance.

“He’s in there on his own. It’s a brilliant header. Enzo, I said the first half he was everywhere, he ghosts in.”

Fernandez has added goals to his game this season and the winner against Tottenham was his fifth Premier League goal of the season to go with his five assists.
