Jason Tindall watched on as Newcastle United tore Crystal Palace apart.
The visitors simply couldn’t live with United.
Jason Tindall overseeing a demolition job, as it ended 5-0 and could have been more.
That is two wins and nine goals scored under Jason Tindall, as he steps in for his best mate who continues his recovery away from the action.
The Newcastle United players and Eddie Howe’s number two, certainly doing their very best to help the NUFC Head Coach make a speedy recovery with their performances.
Jason Tindall speaking ahead of Sunday’s match:
“He [Eddie Howe] has not been well this week and he was admitted to hospital on Friday evening. Everyone wishes him the best and I’m sure he will be back with us soon.
“When you’ve been ill all week it’s difficult to have the input you would normally have.
“The players know the expectations, so it’s important they go out and deliver a performance the manager would be proud of.
“We have had a good week, a really positive result away to Leicester. It’s important we deliver a performance that helps us.”
Jason Tindall speaking after Newcastle United 5 Crystal Palace 0 to BBC Sport:
“We spoke pre-game about maintaining the standards we set ourselves at the weekend, about being really aggressive and on the front foot.
“I thought the players went about that and executed that brilliantly.”
Jason Tindall asked about potential qualification for the Champions League:
“That’s where we want to get to.
“Everybody in the Premier League wants to be in the Champions League.
“We’ve experienced it before and we want more of it.
“We’ve got six cup finals now remaining and we have to stay focused to be able to go out there and deliver the performances we know will help us to get Champions League.”
Jason Tindall on United having the same starting eleven for a sixth match (and sixth win!) in a row:
“We have got a fantastic squad and the balance of the team has been great.
“We have got some players on the bench who can come on the pitch and make a difference.
“We are confident, we have had a good run of results and we have to remain level-headed, work hard every day to go out and deliver performances.”
Jason Tindall asked about the boost the Carabao Cup Final has given Newcastle United:
“That gave us huge confidence.
“We went out and delivered a performance against arguably one of the best teams in Europe in Liverpool.
“We were able to enjoy that for a period of time but we knew what our objectives were for the remainder of the season, to finish as high up the league table as possible.
“The manager always leads and sets that example of never switching off.
“They’ve gone out there, been really consistent and delivering performances.”
Jason Tindall on not having spoken to Eddie Howe about footballing matters yet, as the NUFC Head Coach recovers from pneumonia:
“I think at a time like this, the most important thing is your health.
“That you rest and recover.
“We wish Eddie all the best and the more he can rest the sooner he’ll be back.”
