Jesse Lingard has taken part in his first session at Corinthians’ CT Joaquim Grava. According to Globo.com, the forward worked indoors on strength exercises while Dorival Júnior oversaw a ball session with the squad.

The club are still finalising paperwork and awaiting a work permit before formally unveiling him as a signing. He is likely to require a few more days of training before he can feature.

While he worked away from the pitches, starters and reserves took part in passing and movement drills. Players then contested three-on-three and four-on-four games.

Coaches also ran high-speed counter-attack scenarios, giving the forwards a numerical advantage. The day ended with a full training game.

Corinthians will use the coming days to recondition the squad and, if needed, rest those most fatigued. They are next in action on Wednesday against Coritiba at Neo Química Arena in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
